I finally installed 2.0.0, and found that (like in beta) the little circle
is gone. It used to be a tag for messages marked for a move (Ctrl-O).
Messages tagged for a move become blue as before. The little "x" for
messages marked for deletion is still there.

The last version where the little circle existed was 1.9.9.
